Presentation

The port of Zarzis is located in the extreme south-east of Tunisia, not far from the island of Djerba. This commercial port, whose economic resources come mainly from fishing, olive oil production and tourist activity, is full of cultural sites to visit: the archaeological site of Gightis in Bou Grara, its thermal baths and Hadrian's forum. The private museum of El Hafi, a cave used for centuries as an oil mill.

The port of Zarzis is responsible for the region's trade in sea salt and crude oil exports and imports of white petroleum products, but recent work has recently been completed and the Zarzis port is finally ready to accommodate shipping lines and steamers. With the CTN (Tunisian Company of Navigation) crossings by ferry will emerge during the summer season of 2018, from the port of Zarzis to the port of Marseille in France, to the port of Genoa in Italy and to Tunis and Sfax in Tunisia . The CTN provides a bi-weekly two-month trip to the port of Zarzis to accommodate 10,000 passengers and 3,800 cars. It announced the programming of 10 services between Zarzis and Marseille aboard the Carthage ship from June 19, 2018 until September 30, 2018.

Zarzis can be visited all year, the rains are very rare, its climate is mild and Mediterranean. In the middle of the summer temperatures can reach 36 degrees.
