Presentation

Toulon is a port city located in the south-west of France, 45 minutes drive from Marseille. The first developments of the commercial port of Toulon date back to the 1930s, with the construction of the Fournel wharf, but it was not until the late 1960s that the latter specialized in passenger transport. In the 70s, Toulon is the only port on the French Riviera to offer deep water docks right in the city center. Today, the port of Toulon has become the first French port for the service of Corsica, with more than 1.2 million passengers. Toulon connects France with Corsica, Sardinia and Mallorca with ferries available to Ajaccio, Bastia, Ile Rousse and Porto-Vecchio (Corsica), Porto Torres (Sardinia) and Alcudia (Mallorca-Spain). Depending on the time of year, you will find up to 40 weekly crossings. Located between sea and mountains, Toulon, economic capital of the Var, benefits from many natural assets. The bustling city has among others a university, an opera, several museums, concert halls, and soon a new theater labeled "national scene".
