Located at the southern tip of Andalusia in Spain, the port of Tarifa is just 10 km from Algesiras. An excellent alternative to reach the Moroccan coast by the Strait of Gibraltar. Two ferry companies share about fifteen crossings a day, operating the Tarifa - Tangier-ville link in one hour. Passenger and vehicle traffic has risen sharply in recent years, reaching 1.28 million passengers and more than 300,000 vehicles according to statistics published on the port's website. Thus Tarifa would become the third port of Spain in terms of passenger traffic, after Algeciras and Barcelona. The walled city of Tarifa is a very popular destination for surfers from around the world for the quality of its waves, especially during the summer months.
