Located on the east coast of Corfu Strait, in the cove of Thesprotia Bay, Igoumenitsa Ferry Port is a strategic point for tourism and trade in northern Greece. It is the closest port to Italy. The Igoumenitsa ferry port is connected to the port of Brindisi, Ancona, Venice and Bari in Italy. There are up to 10 crossings per day, ranging from 8.30 hours for Brindisi service to 25.30 hours for Venice service. A large number of shipping companies that fly from Patras to Italy offer a stop in Igoumenitsa, as the capital of Thesprotia is a beautiful little town with beautiful beaches and a translucent sea with impressive mountains in the background . In the surroundings, interesting archaeological sites are to be visited such as the Phanote site 20 km from Igoumenitsa.
