West of the Algerian coast, the mixed commercial and fishing port of Ghazaouet is located about thirty kilometers east of the Moroccan border and 45 kilometers from Messali El-Hadj international airport in Tlemcen. The port of Ghazaouet, one of the first fishing ports of Algeria has a thousand year old tradition. The Romans were struck by the beauty of two large rocks 25 meters high emerging in the waves west of the harbor. They named it "Ad Fratres" (the two brothers).
