Known as the "Port of Rome", Civitavecchia is a city in Lazio, located in the great metropolitan Rome (75 km north of the Italian capital), between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Tolfa Mountains. Currently the port is one of the most important economic resources of the city, very active in the industrial sector, trade and fishing. It has become very popular for ferry crossings and attracts more than 2 million ferry and cruise passengers each year. The port of Civitavecchia is the starting point of many connections with Sardinia and Sicle in Italy, with Tunis in Tunisia and Barcelona in Spain. The harbor area offers beautiful walks as well as restaurants and hotels.
