The Calvi ferry port is located in north-west Corsica, near Ile Rousse, accessible by the N197. Facing the coast of the Côte d'Azur and enjoying favorable weather conditions in an environment of great beauty, it occupies a privileged position in Corsica. It is served by crossings from the port of Nice in France and from the port of Savona in Italy. The Port of Commerce, with its single large wharf, has seen its traffic drop sharply in recent years. Because of the inconvenience caused by heavy truck traffic on the city's only road, cargo ships and ferries were diverted to the port of Ile-Rousse. Only the ferries of the two companies Corsica Linéa and Corsica Ferries serve Calvi in regular maritime traffic. The city is intended for the reception of cruise ships, very numerous in summer in the Mediterranean.

Summertime by its beach, cultural citadel and festivals, Calvi, economic and tourist capital of Balagne, is among the most popular stops in Corsica. The city extends along its gulf under the double surveillance of its citadel _ very charming with its small steep streets_ and Monte Cinto (2 706 m). Do not miss the visit of the Baroque Cathedral Saint-Jean-Baptiste. Calvi is also the closest port to the starting point of the famous GR20, a fabulous trail crossing the island from north to south.
