Annaba is located on the southern shore of the Mediterranean basin, 600 km from the capital, northeast of Algeria and only 100 km from the Tunisian border. The ferry port of Annaba in Algeria serves Marseille in France. The Annaba - Marseille crossings are operated by Algerie Ferries. Annaba is one of the oldest cities of Algeria, founded in 1295 BC.
